Why is it that everyone in the media wants to continue to feed the crime/hunting narrative about gun control? Our founding fathers did not once consider either when penning the 2nd Amendment. It had NOTHING to do with crime or hunting.
Yes, we the people DO need to maintain our “assault rifles”, our large capacity clips… because if the 2nd amendment is ever needed, that is what we the people will be confronted with by any invading military or our very own police and military.
Why isn’t “protection against tyranny” the narrative rather than “we must do whatever is necessary to ensure that a tragedy like New Town never happens again”? Does it just not spin the same? Has the media overall decided this will bring more divisiveness and therefore higher ratings? How can gun control proponents say with a straight face that any of these laws will lower crime or have prevented New Town when they know full well that there is NOT ONE shred of evidence or fact that they can use to support such a position?
I just saw where the Federal Court ruled on the recess appointments based on the “text of the Constitution”. If this is the case, how is it that ANY of the infringements already in place and those like NY just passed, considered constitutional? What powers authorized to the Federal government in the Constitution are they using to say they have the authority to infringe our right to “keep and bear arms”. The second amendment is about as clear a statement as could have been penned… what part of “the rights of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” is unclear? Reminds me of the old saying, “what part of NO do you not understand”?
This increasingly emotional gun control debate is right out of Hitler’s playbook… he would be proud.
– “This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.” Adolf Hitler, 1935
So apparently our President and some in Congress are having a problem understanding that this is one issue most Americans will simply not give them a pass on… not now, not under this administration, not ever!
Focus the gun control debate where it needs to be… we the people only want to preserve, defend and protect our Republic against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. This certainly does include the apparent increasingly real possibility of a tyrannical government abandoning our Constitution.
